We are more than a dance troupe. We are a ministry. We are a community of believers who, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, desire to bring hope to the hopeless, life to the lifeless, and glory unto God through the art of dance.
Continuing the series, we have two of our very own choreographers, Sharon Huang and Kathleen Kang, teaching next Tuesday, June 30.
Workshop info:
7:00 PM - Beginner Hip Hop by Sharon Huang.
8:30 PM - Intermediate Hip Hop by Kathleen Kang.
9:30 PM - Freestyle session.

Choreographer bios:
Sharon began dancing with the competing hip hop team 909 while attending UC Riverside. After moving back home in NorCal, Sharon joined Eight Count, and has been with the group for 4 faithful years. She is currently on the leadership team, and is an essential choreographer and member of the ministry. Sharon has a sharp and fun style, one that is friendly to dancers of all levels.
Kathleen began dancing and training with Team Technique, a competing hip hop group affiliated with Rutgers University (NJ) almost five years ago. After her first year she became artistic director of the team until 2008, when she relocated to the Bay Area for graduate school. She is currently dancing and choreographing for Eight Count. Kathleen teaches groovy and energetic choreography with an emphasis on musicality. Don't forget to bring your swag.
We are going to host a series of workshops in the summer - starting on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 7:00PM. Our very own Eight Count choreographers will be teaching. Later in the series, we hope to bring out special guest choreographers.

Thanks to everyone for making our first hip hop showcase a successful event! All the dance groups were amazing: A1 Crew, Bliss Dance Co, DS Players, Elementral Remix, Future Shock San Jose, Imani's Dream, In Rhythm With Him, IXALT, Junior FUSION, Represent and Skamatix. Paul Kim and Jon Talbert were a huge blessing to have. TR!BE and DJ Trust threw out amazing beats giving us some great freestyle sessions. Ozzy gave us amazing graffiti art as back drops. All the community organizations, esp City Teams, gave us excellent opportunites to take the next steps in serving our communities. If you weren't there, you definitely missed out.
